My name is Duane Long. I earned my PhD in philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. My dissertation involved using my training in ancient philosophy to write a commentary on G.E.M. Anscombe’s masterwork Intention in the tradition of Aristotle commentaries. My current work focuses on Aristotle, but I maintain an interest in both contemporary and ancient philosophy of action.

Since Fall 2024, I have been employed as a Teaching Assistant Professor at Iowa State University. From 2019-2025, I worked at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Since December 2019, I have had papers accepted for publication in Ancient Philosophy, Apeiron (twice), Inquiry, and Rhizomata.
